Ingredients

  • 1 package of refrigerated puff pastry
  • Your favorite jam or pie filling I used cherry

Instructions

  • If you are using frozen puff pastry pull it out of the freeze and let it thaw, we waited about 20 minutes so it was moldable but not too warm it would be sticky.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Create your stencil, this will influence how many love notes you'll get out to of our pastry. We make our stencil with Constuction paper and made its width equivalent to the 1/3 break of the puff pastry.
  • Unfold the puff pastry and using your stencil cut using a knife or a pizza cutter.
  • Place the bottoms on the baking sheet and spoon a teaspoon of jam or pie filling in the center of each square.
  • Place to top piece on the filling, and using a fork crimp the edges for a decorative seal.
  • Using the scrap, cut out small hearts from the remaining pie crust and place one heart on top of each envelope.
  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden and puffy.
  • Let them cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Dust with powdered sugar
