This recipe is a staple in our home. It’s an easy recipe for me to make, set aside as it cooks, and to store to freeze. My son like to help add in the spices, throw in ingredients, and mix it all together as it sits. We recently been on a kick to do more freezer meals and when we do things like this sauce to freeze small pucks. Out and about we found soe adorable Pixar themed silicone molds that makes it fun for my son to throw in the sauce as he is beginning to recognize the different characters.

Tips for freezing
My family loves the large pieces of onion in the sauce, but thats not the easiest thing to freeze. We will tend to use the sauce, and leftovers are added to a blender, pulsed and then added to a tray to freeze. The Sweet onion tomato sauce should last 3 months in the freezer.
